AgMove
Relocation Assistance
AgMove is an Australian Government initiative that helps with costs for eligible people who relocate to take up short term agricultural work, including harvest work in Australia.
From 1 November 2020 to 31 December 2021, you may be eligible for financial help to cover the costs of travel and accommodation when you move to take up a short term agricultural or harvest job opportunity.
Eligibilty for AgMove
If you have general inquiries about AgMove, call the National Customer Service Line on 1800 805 260.
If you are relocating for a harvest job in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania, Northern Territory, Western Australia or South Australia, your Harvest Trail Services (HTS) provider will check your eligibility for relocation assistance and discuss the amount of relocation assistance that may be available to you.
If you are looking for or have found non-harvest jobs in agriculture (such as work with livestock or on dairy farms), or harvest jobs outside of Harvest Areas, contact the Harvest Trail Information Service on 1800 062 332 for assistance.
Jobs advertised on the Harvest Trail Jobs Board with a Harvest Trail Services logo will include the relevant Harvest Trail Services provider contact details. The provider will be able to help you apply for relocation assistance.
To be eligible for AgMove you must:
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- have a right to work in Australia (including Working Holiday Makers and international students)
- be at least 18 years of age, or if you are relocating to take up a job after 5 May 2021 and have graduated from Year 12, 17-years of age
- relocate within Australia to a regional, remote or Harvest Area that is at least 90 minutes from your current place of residence
- take up a short term agricultural work including harvest work that is confirmed by a Harvest Trail Services provider or the Harvest Trail Information Service.
How much money can I receive through AgMove?
If you have relocated and started an agricultural job, including harvest work between1 November 2020 and 4 May 2021 you must complete at least 120 hours of work in at least 6 weeks to be eligible for reimbursement of up to:
- $6,000 if you are an Australian worker, or
- $2,000 if you are a visa holder with a general right to work in Australia.
If you relocate to commence agricultural work, including harvest work between 5 May and 31 December 2021, you must complete at least 40 hours of work in at least two weeks to be eligible for reimbursement of up to:
- $2,000 if you are an Australian worker, or
- $650 if you are a visa holder with a general right to work in Australia.
If you continue to work and complete a total of at least 120 hours of work in at least four weeks, you could be reimbursed up to a total of:
- $6,000 if you are an Australian worker, or
- $2,000 if you are a visa holder with a general right to work in Australia.
